This lecture will cover the purpose of sleep, common causes of poor sleep quality and insufficient sleep, and the impact of sleep on mental health conditions such as depression and PTSD. We will discuss effective
treatments for insomnia and insufficient sleep, especially simple behavioral measures that can be
implemented into clinicians’ treatment plans. The lecture will also include instructions on identifying
obstructive sleep apnea risk factors, signs, and symptoms.
