2021 Call for Officer Nominations
The Society’s Nominating Committee, chaired by Immediate Past President Maher O. Ayyash, MD, will present its recommendations for the PPS offices of President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and two Councilor Representatives, one of which serves as delegate to the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society, at an upcoming meeting of the PPS Council.
We anticipate vacant seats in the position of Secretary and two Resident Representatives. Secretary is an elected position for a one-year term beginning in June 2021 with the possibility of re-election to the next highest office in 2022. Eligible candidates must be APA members in good standing. Candidates are expected to participate in the two PPS council meetings each year. These positions provide the opportunity to have a voice on important practice issues in the Pittsburgh region as well as across Pennsylvania and to have a platform with which to express any areas of concern for the membership at large.
Interested candidates should submit a copy of their CV to the attention of Dawn Losiewicz, Deputy Association Executive, via email at pittpsych@papsych.org . The submission deadline is Friday, March 5, 2021.
According to the by-laws, nominations can also be made by nomination of alternative candidates from the floor, at any meeting prior to the election after the Nominating Committee has presented their nominations to the Council. All nominations must be accompanied by the proposed candidate’s acceptance of the nomination.
