Increasingly, legislators and government officials, not trained in medicine, are making decisions that affect our patients and how we provide psychiatric care. PPS works diligently to protect your interests, but each of us must do our part. One way to help is to contribute to the Psychiatric Physicians of Pennsylvania Political Action Committee (PPP-PAC).
During the current legislative session, we expect to work with legislators to support, defeat, or amend bills dealing with Pennsylvania's mental health commitment law, the age of consent for mental health treatment, access to patient records, mental health insurance parity, and, of course medical malpractice and tort reform.
Invest in psychiatry, your future, and the welfare of your patients by giving to PPP-PAC.
A contribution to the PPP-PAC gives you a voice in the Pennsylvania legislature, (PDF to donation form), or to make a contribution please contact the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society.
