General Eligibility: The basic eligibility requirement for membership with the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association is enrollment in and/or completion of a psychiatric residency program accredited by the Residency Review Committee for Psychiatry of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the American Osteopathic Association.

Dual Membership Requirement: Applicants for membership must apply as a Member-in-Training or General Member (for definition of each membership category see Membership Categories and Dues) and must be approved as a member of both the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association.
